triumph toledo in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire for sale

1976 triumph toledo I've owned this car for little over a year now and it has never let me down, even whilst i was living down in falmouth in the wet over winter. Has always started and has done a 700 mile round trip down to cornwall and didn't miss a beat, everyone i have spoken too is amazed how reliable this has been. i would trust it to go anywhere if driven properly. The car wasn't road worthy when i got it so over the past year i have done the following..... - new steering rack - new track rod ends - new rear shocks - new rear break shoe springs - new upper steering knuckle - new lower steering knuckle - new master clutch cylinder - new slave clutch cylinder - new wipers - new horn - new fuel filter - new distributor cap overall the car is in good condition and was told by the previous owner that the car was resprayed and had some welding done just a few years ago. Obviously there are one or two blemishes in the paint work and there is some small rust bubbles on the leading edge of the bonnet and the driver side rear door, both are barely visible in photos. The black minilite alloys are just a few years old and look great on the car and are worth around £250 alone. The tyres were also new just a year ago and have plenty of tread left. The engine is sweet and very strong, the gear box is good and selects all gears well with a nice positive change. synchromesh on 2nd gear is a bit weak but only notice this when changing down at speed...this just gives you the excuse to blip the throttle and double de clutch. floor pans are all solid and so is the chassis. gets around 35-40mpg and uses very little oil and water tax exempt next year! surprisingly modern driving experience but of course will not accelerate, stop or steer like a modern car. I'm wanting around £1800 for it but open to offers or would swap for something like a triumph herald, beetle or morris minor in similar condition roof rack and steering wheel id like to keep but would sell with if the price is right.
